I did some online shopping recently and intended on doing a mini makeup haul, but I found myself in MAC yesterday and treated myself to a liquid lipstick. Because of this, I thought I'd review both products at the same time.
I hadn't purchased anything new from MAC in a while and thought I'd join in with a couple of hypes and picked up their Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft & Gentle and their Retro Matte Liquid Lipstick in LadyBeGood. Both of those are quite popular products that everyone seems to love but I was yet to actually use them.
Mineralize Skinfinish - Soft & Gentle
RRP - £24
Was so excited to get this in the post, most of the reviews I'd seen had been super positive. I love the Mineralize packaging; it's so elegant. I immediately glided my finger across the top and was just taken aback by the intense pigmentation of the product.
I had to re-do my makeup for the evening anyway, and I used this opportunity to test the product. The first brush I used was the RT Setting Brush which was naff! The brush wasn't picking up much of the product and I was just rubbing an empty brush up and down my cheekbones. So I switched to a fan brush which - thankfully - did a much better job. The payoff was great, and it was quite intense. Not sure about the colour against my skin tone though, it's possibly too gold toned for me. All in all it's a good product and would recommend. I'll definitely be trying different colours from the range.
Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour - LadyBeGood
RRP - £21I haven't really tried (or found ) many good quality liquid lipsticks but I'd heard these were meant to be good. Not having actually tried them before I bought a classic safe-zone nude in case I didn't like them. I swatched almost every colour up my arm; I must've looked a right sight. After parting with £21, I literally couldn't wait to try it on. I had a 45 minute train ride home, so I wiped of MAC's Faux and did my best at applying the lipcolour.
It applied nicely actually, the formula was thick and creamy and pigmented. It literally took about one coat to cover my lips. I found it hard to get a nice clean line around the edge of the lips with the applicator so I'll either be using a lip liner next time or a lip brush. Other than that little setback, I really liked using it. It dried quickly and is super hard to budge.
Anyway, thanks for reading and I hope my opinions helped you in some way. Both these products are great and I'm really happy with my purchases!
Thank youu,
L xx
